Texas A&M researchers are using the power of artificial intelligence to track the relationship between natural hazards and unplanned chemical emissions to help researchers and policymakers predict, and hopefully prevent, future pollution.

Texas A&M researchers have developed a new irrigation system that combines doorbell cameras and artificial intelligence to make lawn irrigation more efficient.

Texas A&M researchers and their project partners created a coating in which cooling gas is dispersed to dissipate the heat — a method they believe could make spacecraft and future hypersonic passenger vehicles rapidly reusable, like today’s airliners, and allow missiles to be built with cheaper thermal materials that have lower heat tolerances.

A new AI-powered system developed by Texas A&M researchers, called CLARKE, aims to reduce that time dramatically. “We’ve been trying to accelerate the speed at which we can get the information to the right person at the right time to make the right decision,” said Thoman Manzini, a lead researcher on the project.

Bonnie Dunbar, director of the Aerospace Human Systems Laboratory at Texas A&M University, was among five named by Gov. Greg Abbott to the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame in recognition of their outstanding achievements and for changing the course of state history.

In the 1990s, the United States Geological Survey estimated there to be some 624 salt domes both onshore and offshore stretching from Texas to Mississippi. For nearly 70 years, companies have used them to store natural gas, petroleum products, and other liquids and gases, said Siddarth Misra, an associate professor of petroleum engineering at Texas A&M University.
