Aggie family establishes three scholarships
The Stegers honor their Aggieland legacy through endowed scholarships for generations to come.

As a family full of Aggies, the Stegers embody the core values that shaped their experiences on campus. Their connection to Texas A&M University is so impactful that they have established three Steger Family Endowed Scholarships; one in Industrial Distribution and two in Biological and Agricultural Engineering.
Curtis R. Steger graduated from Texas A&M University in 1993, earning a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering. As a high school student, he was drawn to the university for its unique blend of agriculture and engineering programs and quickly immersed himself in Aggie traditions.
“My collegiate experience helped me gain the foundation needed to successfully lead an engineering firm that specializes in planning, design and construction expertise,” Steger said.
He currently serves as president of Steger Bizzell, A CHA company, working on projects in roadway design, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and utility design for municipal and private clients across Texas, Arkansas and Florida.
Steger was a recipient of the Stiles Farm Foundation Scholarship and as a student, saw firsthand the impact of financial support. He and his wife, Julie Steger, have two children, Curtis “Cray” R. Steger, II ’20, and Anna G. Steger ’22.
The Steger family has remained involved in the Aggie community after graduation, primarily through the Williamson County A&M Club, where they assist with local scholarships and events, such as the Scholarship Fish Fry, Aggie Muster and also host networking events
“We chose Texas A&M as arecipient of financial gifts as a thank you on behalf of myself (agricultural engineering ’93), Curtis “Cray” Steger (Agricultural Systems Management ‘20) and our daughter, Anna Grace Steger (Industrial Distribution ’22), and to support future generations of Aggies,” Steger said.
Through the scholarship, Curtis hopes to help students focus on graduating, rather than the expenses associated with higher education.
“We know that every bit helps.” he said.
