Selfless donor passes on opportunity for future Aggie engineers
An anonymous donor’s journey from humble beginnings to a career forged at Texas A&M is now shaping the future for engineering students with similar aspirations.

In the spirit of selfless service, an anonymous Texas A&M University graduate has established the Aggie Spirit ’73 Pass It On Endowed Engineering Scholarship for students in the College of Engineering. The gift reflects the lasting impact Texas A&M made on the donor’s life and aims to encourage future Aggies to exemplify that spirit.
The donor, who arrived in Aggieland from a small town where college was often out of reach, spent their summers working on a farm to pay for school. Those seasons of hard work, combined with the skills gained while at Texas A&M, instilled discipline and perseverance.
“In a small town, other kids were in a similar situation and could use financial help to continue their education,” the donor said. “Texas A&M gave me the education to excel in my profession, and I’m fortunate to help others benefit.”
The donor credits the university for providing the necessary skills to seize every opportunity. After graduation, they forged a career in the metal building industry, rising from inside sales to management. They hope the scholarship will help students from similar rural backgrounds attend Texas A&M and experience the same Aggie spirit.
